Pastors’ Profiles

Rupert Hsu currently
serves as pastor and elder for the Chinese congregation. His roles also include the shepherding and caring ministries of the whole church. Rupert is a shepherd who knows and cares for his sheep. His gentle caring touch is felt by everyone.He worked as an engineer prior to being called as a vocational pastor. He holds M.Div. from Western Seminary.

Rupert is married to Hseu-Hwang who works alongside him in the caring ministry. Hseu-Hwang also serves in the women’s ministry and the children’s ministry. They have three children.

Dan Matsuoka came to CCIC-SV’s Youth Group as an 8th Grader in 1997. Dan studied History at UCLA when he felt the call by God into full-time ministry while being involved in campus ministry at UCLA Crossroads Campus Ministries, and then received his Master of Divinity degree from Talbot School of Theology in December of 2011. After serving part-time in College Ministry and in Worship Ministry while attending seminary, Dan decided to move back home to San Jose and to return to CCIC-SV full time. Dan’s primary focus is working with the youth group. He is also involved in the English congregation’s worship ministry. His passion and vision is for God’s people to learn more about the grace of God so that they can become disciples to do the same.
